Nokia, together with Hudson Soft, announced Monday Bomberman for the N-Gage game deck. Bomberman for the N-Gage will be the first ever release of Bomberman to take advantage of Bluetooth wireless. Using Bluetooth wireless technology, Bomberman fans can battle against one another in five unique battle stages only available in the two-player mode.

Bomberman is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2004.

“It’s great to be working with Hudson Soft to bring a classic like Bomberman to the N-Gage game deck,” said Pasi Pölönen, Director of Game Publishing, Games Business Unit, Nokia. “With the two-player mode over Bluetooth wireless technology, Bomberman fans can compete against each other and share in the action-packed 3D world.“

Bomberman is an action game that has become synonymous with the Hudson brand. The first game, which was released in 1985 for the NES, went on to sell over one million copies. Bomberman boasts a simple and addictive game system where the players set bombs to knock out enemies. The game's endless strategic possibilities have made it a critical success. Multiplayer gaming has become the Bomberman series’ forte, and over 40 titles have been released for most home console systems. In total, it has become one of the greatest multiplayer games ever and sales have reached over 10 million copies.
