First Games Unveiled for Nokia's Next Generation Platform

Nokia has revealed a glimpse of some new games coming to a range of Nokia Nseries multimedia computers and other Nokia S60 devices, including: Creatures of the Deep, ONE, Pocket Aces, Pro Series Golf, Space Impact and System Rush: Evolution. These games have been designed specifically for mobile devices, where multiplayer gaming and community gaming features via the N-Gage Arena come as standard.

Nokia, Games Workshop and THQ Wireless today announced that they have shipped Warhammer 40,000: Glory in Death. N-Gage gamers can now choose their identities and become either Ork, Eldar, Space Marine or Chaos Space Marine as they battle for supremacy of the universe.

"With the combination of classic gameplay, intense storyline and exclusive artwork, fans and newcomers alike will fall under the spell of Glory in Death," said Timo Toivanen, product marketing manager of Nokia Games Division. Battle the Commandos Tournament
Can you beat a real soldier at his own game? Prove it in the N-Gage Arena Battle the Commandos Tournament, which pits you in an intense game of Pathway to Glory: Ikusa Islands against real life commandos from militaries around the world.

Three team-based elimination tournaments will be run during the usual Pathway to Glory Battle Club time (Wednesdays, 11am PST), where the top team (two players each team) from each elimination tournament will advance to the Final "Battle the Commandos" Tournament on Saturday, April 29th, 2006.

First Glimpse of the Future of N-Gage

And 'glimpse' is the word, according to Pocket Gamer.

"The N-Gage demo was just a three-minute video in the middle of a rather vague slideshow. Nokia confirmed that there will be no more N-Gage phones made for games. Instead, N-Gage will become a games 'platform', a set of software for handsets, to be accessed like any other from the menu, running on Nokia's upcoming smartphones."
